Astrological Remedies for Sun or Surya
Acharya Karan V – The Sun, known as “Surya” in Hindi language, is the principal god of all the nine planets or “Navgraha” in Vedic Astrology. Surya is a symbol of light or “knowledge” and regarded as an eliminator of darkness or “Ignorance”. In Hindu mythology, Surya Dev is always portrayed to be riding a chariot being pulled by seven horses. The seven horses are believed to be a symbol of seven colours of rainbow or seven chakras in human body. The Astrological impact of the Sun cannot be sidelined as it is a major planet that has an influence on rest of the “Graha” or planets. All the other Zodiacs change their impact as they come under the Sun’s influence. Leo is ruled by the Sun so one born under Leo or on a Sunday reaps the benefits of the blessings of the bright star. One having the Sun as a “beneficial planet” in their birth-chart is bestowed with qualities like determination, positivity, knowledge, graciousness and generosity. On the other hand, if the Sun comes as a “malefic planet” in one’s horoscope, it can cause negative traits like arrogance, short-temper, aggressiveness and belligerence.
So if you have negative sun placed in your horoscope or you want to make it strong for getting fame and recognition in your life so you can do the following simple remedies for Surya –
- Donating a Bel Fruit (commonly available in India) on Sundays, minimum of 5 Sundays.
- In case Bel is NOT available you can donate wheat Flour or stuff made of wheat flour (like bread, cookies etc.) to some charity or otherwise.
- Chanting of Lord Surya Mantra i.e. ‘Om Aditya Namah’ for 108 times daily in the morning.
- Offering water to the plants especially Tulsi in the Sun Rise hours facing the Sun helps strengthening Surya in your horoscope.
The various positions of the Sun in different zodiacs cause both positive and negative effects. He is responsible for the choice of a career – for example, the sun in the house of Jupiter can cause one to be physician – in one’s life and accounts for long or short life span. In all the twelve houses of one’s horoscopes, the sun changes its impact, for example, while in the first house, it invokes confidence in a person, in second, ability to make money, in third, knowledge and so on and forth. From astronomical point of view, the sun is the reason we have life on earth. The Sun, being placed at a suitable distance from the earth, causes vegetation to grow, turns water to rainy clouds and makes soil fertile. So much is the impact of the Sun on the Earth that a little disturbance there can be quite evident here on the Earth, with ice melting on the poles or sudden rise in the temperature.
