The book has been one of the famous reference books in the circles of astrologers and occultists who go about predicting the future of their clients. The primary reason Ravan is attributed to have had a great insight into astrology is that he is believed to be a descendent of Lord Brahma – the god of Knowledge in Hindu Mythology, so Ravan is believed to be a gifted scholar who wrote this treatise to unravel the mysterious ways planets had as they affected an individual’s life. Though led astray later by his arrogance and desires as he went about abducting Lord Ram’s consort Sita that paved a path for his death, he is credited to have had greater knowledge of the unknown. “Ravan Samhita” is considered to be an astrological gem and it tells ways to guess the ways of the planets and tries to foretell the catastrophes and calamities one can possibly have in the future.
