Q – Harshit Sharma – Delhi, India – I have analyzed the meaning of most of the mantras they are quite simple prayers, so can’t we just say it in our normal day today language or any other foreign language?
Karan Sekhri – Yes you are right. Every mantra if translated in Hindi or English has a very simple meaning or in the sense it’s a simple prayer to the concerned God or Goddess or motive. I would explain this complex ‘Mantra’ phenomenon with an example hope this would simplify the things bit more. If for example you need to hit a target board with an arrow and you have two arrows both blunt and a sharp one. If you shoot both the arrows they will travel to the target in somewhat same time and hit at the same point according to your aim. But among the two arrows which one has the maximum chances to pierce through the target board. Off course the sharp one has an advantage upon the blunt one. Similarly Mantras is a group of specific words mostly taken from ancient language ‘Sanskrit’ these words have unique and significant vibrations which travels both in the inner world (inner-self) and outer world than any other word. In other words the prayers are made sharper in the form of different ‘Mantras’ so they hit and go deep inside exactly where they are ought to. So every single word in a Mantra has distinct effect on individual’s body and surroundings for generating the desired results. So it is always advisable to use the Mantra in its original form without any addition, subtraction and translation.
