Karan Sekhri – ‘Kalki’ Avatar is the tenth Avatar of Lord Vishnu. The other nine Avatars are Matsaya Avatar, Vaaman Avatar, Narsingh Avatar, Kurma Avatar, Varah Avatar, Parshuram Avatar, Rama Avatar, Krishna Avatar and Balrama Avatar. As per Vishnu Purana, Garud Purana and Kalki Purana, Lord Vishnu will come to the earth or incarnate himself in a human prophetic form. He will be born just like any other human with parents having strong faith in deities. He will make an end to this ‘Kalyuga’ or Kali Yuga. To your question has Lord Vishnu Incarnated in Kalki Avatar yet or not? So as far as Kalki Avatar is concerned there isn’t any special power or distinct quality mentioned which could prove that so and so person is Kalki Avatar or not. Taking advantage of this we hear so many stories and every other person having little or large social following claims to be the ‘Kalki’ incarnation. Just few months back I heard someone from Canada claiming to be the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In fact many prominent leaders of other religions also claimed existence and reference of Kalki Avatar in their own versions.

The most important factor which all these people or theories miss out is that ‘Kalki’ Avatar’s existence or sole purpose is to end the Kalyug or the Yuga of Kali and initiate the ‘Satyuga’ or Satya Yuga. So now the question arises that how you or anyone else will know whether Satyug has started or not? As the name states ‘Satya Yuga’ it’s an era of the ‘Truth’ nothing else can prevail apart from truth but as of now in the current era there is everything else prevailing apart from the ‘Truth’. So it can’t be ‘Satyug’. Hence ‘Kalki Avatar’ is yet to be incarnated.
