Karan Sekhri – It’s not that complex at all if you know basic astrology you can calculate yourself in four easy steps.
Step One – Analyze the planet having highest degree in your horoscope. Say for example it’s Saturn with 25:44:21 degrees.
Step Two – Analyze Saturn’s position in ‘Navamsa’ chart of horoscope say for example it is sitting in the second house in ‘Capricorn Sign’ i.e. 10th sign.
Step Three – Now analyze the twelfth house from ‘second house’ that will be first house or lagna and the sign would be ‘Sagittarius’ so this is your ‘Isht Dev’ or Moksha House.
Step Four – If some planet is sitting in this house then we take its reference otherwise it’s the lord of this house i.e. Jupiter.
Planet wise you can derive the ‘Isht Dev’ if it is Sun it symbolizes Lord Vishnu and Shiva, Moon symbolizes Lord Shiva, Mars symbolizes Lord Hanuman, Mercury symbolizes Lord Vishnu, Jupiter symbolizes Lord Vishnu or Sai baba, Venus symbolizes Goddess Mahalakshmi, Saturn symbolizes Lord Shiva and Hanuman, Rahu symbolizes Lord Bhairav and Ketu symbolizes Lord Ganesh. In case if you are not aware about your birth time or horoscope etc. then by default you can select Lord Vishnu or any of its Avtaars like Lord Rama, Krishna, Kalki etc. as your ‘Isht Dev’.
